Building Energy Ratings or assessments are required to demonstrate compliance with the energy efficiency provisions of the Building Code of Australia.
The software tools used to carry out these assessmenst must be accredited under the Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme known as NatHERS.
There are 3 tools currently accredited under NatHERS for assessors to use to demonstrate compliance with the energy efficiency provisions of the Building Code of Asutralia - BERS Pro V4.2, Accurate and FirstRate5.
The Department of Climate Change has recently released guidelines or Technical Notes that describe the modelling techniques that users of NatHERS tools must employ when carrying out assessments in regulatory mode.
Users who are accredited with ABSA or BDAV will have received advice on these notes separately.
